PHOTOS OF WINTER

This collection of photos, captured during the winter of 2021, challenges my own pathological belief that creating art must be a painful and solitary process. Instead, it explores an approach to work-making that was at the time unfamiliar to me, one that celebrates the euphoria of companionship and confessing to a need for closeness.

However, in the act of capturing these moments of togetherness, an unexpected result occurs, capturing the longing that exists between moments of intimacy.

In this work, the camera acts as a tool in seeking out relationships, an excuse to push into unfamiliar cohorts, and as a means to keep close records of the encounters.
